You guys pretty much know by now I’m a wicked breakfast person (well, food person). I love starting off my day with nutritious foods and delicious flavors. And we definitely all know of the infamous açaí bowl, but I figured it was worth a dedicated post because, #bae
I have this for breakfast probably once a week (will definitely increase this now that Spring is finally here!). Sometimes I have it for lunch, but I prefer the morning because of the sugar content from the fruit.
What is açái?
Açái – may be considered a super food, it’s a fruit that is similar to blueberries and is native to Central and South America. It’s low in sugar, full of antioxidants, and high in Vitamin C. #nutritious
How to make the original açái bowl:
1 packet of Sambazon açái
1/2 C bluerries, fresh or frozen
1 Banana (save 1/2 for topping)
1 C spinach
1 serving of plant based protein
1 tbsp chia seeds
1 tbsp coconut oil
1.5 C almond milk
Combine all ingredients into blender and blend on high until desired consistency. Add water or more almond milk if you want the consistency thinner, or more fruit if you want it thicker (sometimes I add almond butter for texture and taste too). Pour into your cute bowl and top with your faves – walnuts, almonds, cashews, cacao nibs, coconut, bee pollen, cinnamon, anything 🙂 Enjoy!
