Berry Smoothie

Berry Smoothie

I’ve been having this on repeat all summer. It tastes like vanilla berries, and features a secret ingredient you’d never know is there: cauliflower.

Packed with nutrients, antioxidants, protein, fat, and fiber, this is a great one to take on the go, as a snack, after a workout, or for your breakfast.

How to make:

  • 1 cup of organic frozen mixed berries
  • 1/2 cup frozen cauliflower
  • 2 tbsp chia seeds
  • 1 tbsp peanut butter
  • 1 serving vanilla collagen (I love thrive market! use this link for a discount 🙂
  • 1.5-2 cups almond milk 

blend everything together until desired consistency (add more/less liquid for thickness), pour, enjoy!

8 months postpartum today has me reflecting.. here 8 months postpartum today has me reflecting.. here’s some advice for new mamas as you get closer to bringing home your sweet bebé:
1. Prioritize your self care: that means physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. Whatever you need, listen & follow suit.
2. Learn to ask for help. 
3. Reframe how you define productivity- (rest & healing is productive)
4. Sleep as long as you can now ;) and yes you will sleep again
5. Educate yourself for an empowered birth
6. Plan for postpartum, aka the fourth trimester (don’t forget this!) Our worlds & bodies are forever changed after bringing a new baby home- enlist your support, prep nourishing meals+ snacks, get comfy clothes, set up your healing & feeding stations, ask for help. Feel the feels. Take it s l o w
6. Breathe, connect, relax, trust, surrender. Repeat.

I’ve been practicing this for several years (i think i first heard on @theskinnyconfidential @tscpodcast with @edmylett ?) and it really anchors me & puts the day into perspective. Receiving is often the hardest, since we’ve been taught giving = good (@glennondoyle breaking down these truths in #untamed ).. ending the day with internal reflection makes for a restful night sleep 💭

New year, new (career) chapter: diving back into c New year, new (career) chapter: diving back into corporate for a marketing job in the wellness & education space @nutritionschool .. it’s a full circle moment since i was enrolled there as a student when i took the leap out of corporate in fall 2017 (*removes “corporate drop out” from about* 🤣)
this is actually something i manifested💫 after getting super clear on what i wanted thanks to @tobemagnetic

2020 • collectively the worst year in most of ou 2020 • collectively the worst year in most of our lifetimes, and yet it was the best year of my life personally: welcoming my rainbow baby earth side.
While seemingly everyone is wishing away this year I’m hanging onto the memories. Every single day Olivia (like all babies) shows me the purest form of unconditional love, joy, happiness, playfulness, and trust. She came at a time i, and i think the world, desperately needed her (and all babies), and for that I am eternally grateful. 
It may not have been the year we hoped for but it forced us to reconsider what life means to us, how we want to use our time & energy, and who we want to spend our precious time with. 
My wish for you is to carry these lessons into the new year, along with grace, compassion, acceptance, forgiveness, and surrender. 
See you in the new year my fam. Olivia and I are sending you our love, today & always 💫

I always knew I wanted to be a mother. 

A working mother actually.

I recently shared the emotions that have started coming up as I begin my work again. The never ending cycle of wanting to work and fuel my soul in that way, and the guilt of missing out on precious time with Olivia. 

To me, fueling my soul is equally as important as being her mom - because if I’m not fulfilled I won’t show up and be the best version of me for her. 

I want to be there for her now and in the future. To me that means modeling to her that I can have ambitious dreams & goals for myself, and  provide for her future, and that I can be present for her as the best mom possible. And that there’s a harmony to it - some days I’ll spend every single waking moment with her, and others I’ll spend more time working. 

It’s a hard transition that will come and go many times throughout this journey. But I know it’s worth it. And most importantly, I know she’s proud of me.

Breakfast skillet #cookingwithky addition! This Breakfast skillet #cookingwithky addition! 

This hits the spot for a weekend brunch. It’s one of the few things Kyle makes & i must say it gets better & better each time. Recipe below, (we usually we have leftovers too). Enjoy 😎

Ingredients:
1 sweet potato 
1/2 red onion 
1 avocado 
Handful of spinach
Tomatoes, diced (however much you desire)
1/2 lb of chopped bacon (get the goods!)
6-8 eggs
~ 1 tsp Everything but the seasoning @traderjoes 
~ 1 tsp Chili powder 
Sea salt

How to: 
In a skillet, first cook the chopped bacon until crisp (about 4-8 mins). While bacon is cooking, cut up your sweet potato into small cubes, and dice your red onion. Once bacon is cooked, remove and put off to the side, but leave the grease in the skillet (maybe gross but important for flavor🔥). Add the sweet potato, onion & seasonings into skillet. Reduce the heat to low, cover the skillet and cook for about 10 mins. Next, remove the cover & increase to mid heat to crisp potatoes. Add the spinach over the layer of potatoes & onions, cooking for about 5 mins. Then crack your eggs over the entire skillet and cover to cook (basically you’re poaching the eggs to your liking). Finally, remove the cover and top with freshly diced tomato, avocado slices, and cooked bacon. Dig in!

I was pregnant the last two thanksgivings. Last ye I was pregnant the last two thanksgivings. Last year with Olivia, and the year before with another angel before miscarrying. Holding her in my arms feels particularly special this year. I know how blessed we are to have each other, to be healthy, and to surrounded by incredible family & friends. I try my best not to take it for granted & I pray every day for those suffering or longing for children of any kind 🤍 it’s truly a miracle to birth a baby, and I thank God daily for choosing me to be her mama 🙏🏼 in this season of thanks, in this challenging unprecedented year- hold on extra tight to your loved ones. I’m definitely no beauty guru but I thought I’ I’m definitely no beauty guru but I thought I’d share some of my favorite cleaner skin & makeup brands. I started transitioning all of my products a few years ago to improve my hormone & overall health, and i do think I’ve experienced an actual change in my skin, mainly less sensitivity & little to no perioral dermatitis 🙏🏼 i tend to go the less is more route, but also love a full face of glam when i can. please share any of your favorite products or brands i love experimenting
