Prenatal yoga is a therapeutic experience for both you and your baby. Our bodies go through immense changes during pregnancy that cause stress on the body both mentally and physically. Prenatal yoga can offer poses that increase strength and flexibility, and breathing exercises and meditations to calm the body and mind.
When I was pregnant I practiced some form of prenatal yoga every day and can honestly say it made a huge difference not only in my strength and stamina, but trust in myself and baby during labor and delivery.
Here are some benefits of prenatal yoga:
- relieves tension and stress in the body
- cultivates deeper connection with you and baby
- prepares body and mind for labor and delivery (through breath work, visualization meditation, and poses)
- calms the nervous system
- develops stamina and balance in the body
- improves sleep
I also think it’s a great way to take time for you. Through all the busy-ness of life, prenatal yoga can offer you an outlet to move through the stress, nerves, and excitement building up to the arrival of meeting your baby.

No experience is required in my prenatal yoga classes. I welcome every BODY! Some of my classes are ‘workout’ focused, but the majority offer an experience rooted in building flexibility and strength, resilience, trust, and surrendering, creating an inner peace of mind.
