Okay friends I’ve been posting on my Instagram stories on and off since July about my obsession with celery juice. I broke it down before on why I love it so much, but thought I’d share in more depth. Most of this info is from Medical Medium – he is the original creator of drinking celery juice for health benefits, particularly for healing chronic disease.
Here’s the 411 on Celery Juice
🌱 Drink it first thing in the morning, 15-20 minutes before eating or drinking anything else (yes you can have it later in the day but its ideal on an empty stomach)
🌱 Ideally drink it solo – meaning no other ingredients in it. A lot of people struggle with the taste, so you can add cucumber, apple, or lemon in it to help balance the flavor and gradually work towards celery alone
🌱 It’s recommended to drink 16 oz a day and work up to 32 oz… I don’t measure mine, I use 1 large stalk to make 2 juices, it’s perfect for me right now (I snapped this photo when I was halfway done, it was full when I started 😉)
🌱 It helps repair & prepare the digestive system for digestion. It rebuilds the hydrochloric acid in your body so your body is able to break down the food you’ll be eating
🌱 Since celery is 95% water you’re essentially drinking straight water + nutrients (antioxidants, enzymes, vitamins & minerals) which are absorbed very quickly (hydration!) – especially on an empty stomach
🌱 It flushes out toxins, particularly those stored in the liver, and restores your central nervous system (yes, from personal experience I usually go to the bathroom within 5 minutes after drinking – its super detoxifying so you can ditch the coffee) 💩
